In this episode, Jesse talks about getting married young, why Jimmy gets everyone kicked out of hotels and bars, and why vacations are a litmus test for relationships. Cheers. Hey. Welcome back. You're all probably
 U2
 0:13
wondering why I've gathered here today. I'm with Jimmy. I'm Jesse, I'm a married man. Get
 U3
 0:18
 ready for episode
 U2
 0:19
two. Yell at you. Where we left off was. Hey, we were talking about spring break. Would you let your kids do spring
 U1
 0:26
break? Consensuses. Hell no. Not nowadays. Of course it was. It was dope in 95. Anyways, Gen-X is different. Parents didn't care what we did.
 U2
 0:34
But hey, leading this episode with my boy Junior Harding and single dad of two
 U1
 0:39
or single dad of one. And then you know you like you deserve
 U3
 0:42
something that you know that I don't. Didn't you what?
 U1
 0:46
Only one for tax purposes anyways. And I'm married. Dad of three. Hey, but how did we get here? Jimmy,
 U2
 0:52
let's talk about our 20s and where our paths diverged.
 U1
 0:55
So way back to Michigan. Graduate.
 U2
 0:59
Let's just so everyone knows. Oh, our 20s were nothing. I mean, black and white, up and down, dude, they were completely opposite. Just so when we get into these stories.
 U3
 1:11
No, no. Yeah. When we when
 U2
 1:13
we go back and tell these stories. I'm not trying
 U1
 1:16
 to tune up here.
 U2
 1:18
 I'm trying to say,
 U1
 1:19
hey, this is the way to do it. I'm
 U3
 1:22
just saying we had different techniques, have different aspirations, and so far it's worked.
 U1
 1:27
 Oh, yeah. Man,
 U3
 1:28
don't. But but if these ways don't work for you, don't come looking for us, okay? They not. It's a production
 U2
 1:34
disclaimer was like results may vary. Our parenting skills for the most part. Like everything will that I'll learn by my mistakes sometimes. So
 U1
 1:45
 again, my work
 U2
 1:46
for me probably definitely won't work for you. Probably vice versa. Anyways, just saying. I'm going to be
 U1
 1:52
responsible for all that. All right. So let's go back. Going to the 20s. Yeah. Now now we're adults because you know we went to spring break, graduated high school. Oh such a such a such an achievement. Yeah. I joined the Air Force seven days after graduate high school. I'll still 17
 U2
 2:08
 to get my mom and
 U1
 2:09
 permission. Um, she
 U2
 2:11
was like, you look so. Yeah. Couldn't wait to get out of Detroit. And then again, one of these these places Anthony
 U1
 2:17
Bourdain always said, you know, Detroit's a
 U2
 2:19
great place to be from. I never hear people saying, hey, let's go back down river very
 U3
 2:23
high. Some of us are still here, man.
 U2
 2:28
What's. My heart goes up and goes out to you. I'm like you. Look, man, there
 U1
 2:33
 is another question, but I'll
 U2
 2:35
say we didn't. We didn't hook up back again until that Christmas where mutual friend Andy said, come home, you know, Christmas, leave all that well haircut. I'm a lean meeting, you know, lean, mean,
 U1
 2:46
you know, was dope, man. You know, military is cool, exciting. You know, everybody
 U2
 2:51
else got college stories. But let's
 U1
 2:52
be honest, majority of our friends, what were they doing? They were working for for Chrysler
 U2
 2:57
and driving way cooler cars than me.
 U3
 2:59
Yeah, well, a lot of who started with their career
 U1
 3:03
don't the heist. But I guess they call that my career then are their firemen now? We have some cops, right? Yeah,
 U2
 3:13
obviously our children weren't growing up to be lawyers and doctors, let's
 U1
 3:16
put it that way. All blue collar is probably gonna get into that mix.
 U2
 3:21
All right, so come back. Yeah. Come back for Christmas. And here's the name. Haven't heard in a while. Our
 U1
 3:26
buddy Andy. And you guys have trying to organize always organize the New Year's Eve arts and for like two years in a row and was coming back for Christmas. I was like,
 U2
 3:35
didn't hang out with my friends, get hung out with my new my new besties from from Taylor Candy man I met on spring break, and everybody's doing great. But here's the problem,
 U1
 3:44
man, when I hang out with you guys, we literally get kicked out of hotels every single time. Like the
 U2
 3:51
first year that was expected. You can't have 40 people in a hotel room. And
 U1
 3:54
like, you know, hotel security is like, what's going on here? Get the hell out. The
 U2
 4:00
second year, you guys put the room name under like, like a fake name, like kid Rock
 U1
 4:06
or something. You know, I don't
 U2
 4:08
know if we kept the invite lights low, may. We still got kicked
 U1
 4:11
 out on in, so
 U2
 4:13
it never fails. The first year, they
 U3
 4:15
were the most high end hotels to begin with. I think those were the ones where they left the light on for Johnny.
 U1
 4:25
I know always vacancies. Yeah, we didn't have to make reservations, but
 U2
 4:30
it seemed like after two years in a row, 30 minutes before New Year's Eve, we're driving down the road trying to figure out where we're going to spend, you know,
 U1
 4:37
New Year's Eve, because we had nowhere to go.
 U3
 4:40
The have another story with that. Was there something? I'm just saying. 1s Oh, dessert a fan or or something involved in this? Like you guys were being chased or.
 U1
 4:53
 That wasn't
 U3
 4:54
the fight, you guys. Oh, that one
 U2
 4:56
was chased. So. So the first year we go to my house because my parents are gone. We got 30 minutes before New Year's drove separate
 U1
 5:04
with some Dearborn Heights girls. In fact, one of them
 U2
 5:08
don't don't remember their names, but one of them
 U1
 5:10
there was there are seniors in high school, so it was weird. And one of them, you knew her from having a bug bite on her eye. And you said, you told me you're like, no, man. She looks like
 U2
 5:20
sloth from Goonies. When she had that allergic reaction.
 U1
 5:23
 And I'm like, cool
 U2
 5:25
 man. In the past, I don't care. I'm like, I'm 18 and
 U1
 5:28
 I'm down anyway.
 U3
 5:31
I've been around the men the last.
 U1
 5:34
 Yeah,
 U2
 5:35
it's surrounded by I'm in training. I'm surrounded by
 U1
 5:38
 November, dudes. So you guys
 U2
 5:41
 came over to like four
 U1
 5:43
in a van, but you got you're getting chased because, you know, that's Detroit. Who knows man. Anyways,
 U2
 5:48
I was trying to make out with that girl and I forgot her name because I just met her and called her the wrong name, and she's like, I'm not, you know, whatever. And I'm
 U1
 5:56
like, I'm sorry. Just go with it, man. I'm, you know, I'm mesmerized by you. I'm just trying to tap dance my shit around it anyways. So spoiler alert that didn't last.
 U2
 6:07
But he used to write her letters. We didn't have social media, so they write.
 U1
 6:10
 Yeah, yeah.
 U2
 6:11
 Wrote all these girls letters.
 U1
 6:13
I had, like, a list of, like,
 U2
 6:15
20 girls. I'd just. I'd meet them, get their edges and write in letters. And I'm telling
 U1
 6:19
 you, they loved it. Anyway,
 U2
 6:22
it's for all the single dads out there.
 U1
 6:24
 Don't get out. Social media,
 U2
 6:25
 right hand written letters.
 U1
 6:27
The ladies love that. You didn't go against the results. Maybe she don't know you're doing it. So,
 U3
 6:34
hey, we're right on the Paul do at it.
 U1
 6:37
You can group cheat. Okay. Like ChatGPT. Say I need a poem for a girl I just met. Here's her name. Oh. They won't know anyways.
 U3
 6:47
I'm strictly the roses and red. Violets are blue. If you don't like it,
 U2
 6:53
don't, don't, don't, don't write it. Don't. I don't have anything to write. To write. This is why I'm doing that. I want to get our story out there. Christmas. Christmas letters, Christmas
 U1
 7:02
cards. You write those now you hate. So that's a dying thing, isn't it? Probably not what you like. Just not like I've already told you. Like with texting on the phone. I'm not. I'm not a good like, hey, that's calling. Hey, here's a letter. Here's a dear John. 1s That's the
 U2
 7:22
letter. You are. All right, we'll get in there. We're gonna. We're gonna save the dear John. Let's go,
 U3
 7:27
 let's go. So you
 U2
 7:28
want. I'll talk about. I'll talk about how I'm in my wife, you
 U1
 7:31
know? Um, because. So she was at the time, she was 17, and I'm in Great Falls, Montana. And
 U3
 7:40
how are you stationed here? Training. What? What are you
 U1
 7:43
doing? No, that's right, I was I was stationed there. Living there. So it was a culture shock going from away to the falls. Montana's cold as hell. And, uh, yeah, I
 U2
 7:55
was working AC BMS like nuclear missiles, which is crazy because we had to get a security clearance, then go back to all my old neighborhood and high school dudes and trench coats and stuff, and I'm
 U1
 8:06
like, you know, just adding in work. But the neighbors are like in the school, like,
 U2
 8:11
hey, what's going on with you, man? You work in some, like, top secret stuff. And that's the thing. Thought the exams are really state of the art technology or radio scans and all the movies, you know,
 U1
 8:20
 man, was like, this
 U2
 8:22
combination locks from the 50s and time delay. I was the youngest guy on these crews, so they had
 U1
 8:28
 to, uh, had to
 U2
 8:30
clean up dead mice. There's there's a lot of dead mice at
 U1
 8:33
the bottom of a missile silo, by the way. And not only the lowest ranking dudes is going to have to clean it up. So it's not the job of my dreams by any means. Guess
 U3
 8:42
 a better than chip.
 U2
 8:44
 Well, shit, I don't know. I 1s don't know. There's probably worse jobs
 U1
 8:49
 out there anyways. Yeah.
 U2
 8:50
So. So I got a word. I'm 19, I'm getting ready to turn 20 and,
 U3
 8:55
you know, hung out with a bunch of, you know, my crew and get word that this girl, like, you know, she saw a picture of me because this is when we had the we didn't have cell phones and stuff. We had to go and talk about cameras. Yep.
 U2
 9:08
Cameras. Yeah. Develop pictures and then like, go to. So these girls are going to their school like chick out. I partied
 U3
 9:13
all summer with a bunch of
 U2
 9:14
 Air Force guys. You know,
 U1
 9:16
looking back at it, probably pretty creepy, maybe. Yeah.
 U2
 9:19
But you boys hanging out in high school. So I tell everybody, my wife, Joanie, I'm like, I'm her high school sweetheart.
 U1
 9:25
 Uh, she was in my
 U2
 9:26
high school, so now it's her high school sweetheart. And I was like, you know, tell everybody this day was like, yeah, mean she was stalking me
 U1
 9:34
 and, you know, finally
 U2
 9:35
 gave in. But in reality,
 U1
 9:37
reality because, you know, talk a lot of shit. I found out that she thought I was cute and I'll wait for sales mode, man. Everything I can do to impress her
 U2
 9:48
 mean our first date.
 U3
 9:50
Pick her up. Letters and roses, right? Oh, yeah.
 U2
 9:53
I got one flower and pick a pick
 U1
 9:56
her up. I pick her up in my beat up, beat up pickup truck. And it was, it was, it was Jake. And go up there and I'm like, you know, she's beautiful. I'm like, oh
 U2
 10:07
man, let's go to the movies. First movie was like only rom com that was playing was a romantic comedy about gay
 U1
 10:14
dudes is called In and Out. So every year
 U2
 10:19
on our first date anniversary, we try to watch that movie and it's and it's like, oh, I'm so sick of it. At this point, watching Kevin
 U1
 10:28
Kline and Tom Selleck kiss. Oh my gosh.
 U3
 10:32
Really? Yeah. I never even heard of that.
 U2
 10:34
Well, listen, you always got to have a first, so. Remember taking her down to my truck
 U1
 10:40
and, you know, open the truck, and it's an old Nissan, you know, pickup thing for Nissan trucks. And, you know, I shut the
 U2
 10:48
door, I get in there and my heater core is broken, so have no heat. The window handle had and vice grips on it because the window handle like broke off was like, if you got to roll the window up or down, you got to use those
 U1
 10:59
vise grips. And she goes, this is really weird. I'm like, yeah, anyways, just go with it. It's fine. Let's go watch a movie. So I kissed her that night,
 U2
 11:07
my friend's apartment, and I was, you know, be all romantic. And
 U1
 11:11
I was trying to think of the song that was playing, you know, was like, oh, I want to remember our first kiss. It
 U2
 11:16
was some crazy 90s techno beat that will never. Don't even know what it was. And after I kissed her, I was like, I just want to go on the record. This is 1998. I was like, I'm never going to remember whatever song is playing right now. Some
 U1
 11:29
German house music that we had our first kiss and she's probably, if I was a weirdo, you
 U2
 11:34
know what she told her friend? Because we are talking on the phone for weeks before this. She tells her friends. She goes, I don't know about
 U1
 11:40
this guy. She's like, get on the phone and think, I'm talking to a girl. He never shuts up. I was like,
 U3
 11:46
well, I agree with her there.
 U2
 11:48
 That's like,
 U3
 11:49
you always got something to say. I
 U1
 11:52
was in sales mode bro. Anyways,
 U2
 11:54
so anyways took off, right? Our romance, you know, did all the you know she turned 18. She moved in immediately with me. Within weeks she was still in high school.
 U3
 12:04
That worked. Where were you living? On the
 U1
 12:06
base? No, no, at this point, no. Okay. Um, here's here's the thing,
 U2
 12:11
man. You live on a military installation. You can't have girls in your room that are
 U1
 12:16
under 18, so. Oh, my gosh, now you're taking you're taking me back. So
 U2
 12:21
did I. Made a lot of weird,
 U1
 12:22
 made a lot of weird
 U2
 12:24
 dorm life decisions based on
 U1
 12:26
me being madly in love with this woman.
 U2
 12:30
 First thing I did
 U1
 12:31
was I applied to move off base and went broke doing it because I'm like,
 U2
 12:37
I want her to hang out with me and I don't want I'm not a rule breaker. So I'm I'm indoctrinated to the military. So get an apartment like, oh gosh, two months
 U1
 12:49
after, um, you know, we met,
 U2
 12:52
I had to get a roommate and all that.
 U1
 12:53
Just, you know, help pay for it. It was crazy. As rent was on, that was only like 350 for both of us and split in that. And I'm like, it's still a lot of money. I was broke as a joke
 U2
 13:03
 when traded. I
 U1
 13:05
didn't trade in that junkie Trott
 U3
 13:07
was so embarrassed by it, went on, bought a Eagle Talon, bought a sports car. How dumb is that
 U1
 13:12
for a girl I just met? I'll try to impress her. And looking back at it, I didn't need
 U2
 13:16
to, but I was an idiot.
 U1
 13:18
A wing got a bunch of new outfits from this. The only
 U2
 13:22
Great Falls is weird. Cheese was. It was. The buckle was. I was decked out head to toe from with the
 U1
 13:28
 buckle, um,
 U2
 13:31
and her bearings. And that was 399.
 U3
 13:34
 Just put those back in.
 U2
 13:35
Yeah, because I'm on my third midlife crisis, so 90 are coming back. I'd keep telling people that, um, I don't know, maybe not. Yeah. Get a lot of
 U1
 13:46
 this.
 U2
 13:47
Yeah. Some things are taken. So after she graduated high school. And here's how, let me tell you how I
 U1
 13:53
knew she was the one. So
 U2
 13:55
remember, the Dearborn Heights girls called the wrong name, and she
 U1
 13:58
got on this and all that.
 U2
 14:00
Did the same thing to Joan
 U1
 14:02
Rivers. We called her the wrong name, only
 U2
 14:05
it was a girl that was technically talking
 U1
 14:10
to you back in, you know? You knew who? You know how. I know my wife was the one. How's it? My ex-wife. Yeah, she said
 U2
 14:19
 I was pregnant.
 U3
 14:22
You see where I'm at now?
 U1
 14:23
Now? Uh, yeah. On. You're like. You're like.
 U2
 14:26
 You're like, I knew it,
 U1
 14:28
I knew him. And then my soulmate because she didn't take birth control from you. 1s Nothing's good. It's a good leading man. I like this because, you know,
 U2
 14:40
once how I knew was when I called a wrong name. Not only in the wrong name. It
 U1
 14:45
was ex-girlfriend left for for my wife. And she got mad at me a little bit, you know, like, yeah, I got a tap dance, and she's very patient with me. So the fact that, you know, she she, you
 U2
 14:58
know, water under the bridge thought I was like, God, this
 U1
 15:00
is a woman that doesn't hold on to grudges. I say woman, but in high school, Ryan Ung in senior. In high school, you can't call her a girl. She hates that I'm a woman. Yes. Yes, ma'am. So here's this
 U2
 15:15
 sign. Number two. I
 U1
 15:16
accidentally farted in front of her after dating, like a week. And it was like right after I met her dad and
 U3
 15:25
her dad's like, well, you didn't have that window with the vice grips on it. Dude,
 U1
 15:29
that's what it was. The Eagle Talons sold the deal,
 U2
 15:31
but her dad's like, you met her a week ago, and you're farting in front of her
 U1
 15:35
and play it off like was on purpose. Oh, my God was horrified. It was an accident. And she goes, you're
 U2
 15:40
 disgusting. You're like my dad.
 U1
 15:42
 And I'm like,
 U2
 15:44
you know what? You go, I'm glad I got that out of the way the first week because I know couples in hand. God, no cat
 U1
 15:52
learn that from my kids. I know
 U2
 15:54
couples that date the first two years of dating. They'll wait till each other
 U1
 15:58
leaves the house before they. They go and poop in the house like they're. They're scared to death. You gotta go. You gotta go. But that was different. Guess when we were 20 it. And now that I'm 46, I'm farting.
 U3
 16:10
I'm taking a shit. Gotta take a shit apart, you
 U1
 16:13
know? Yeah. You know, again, trying to sell it in some point, you're like, nah, man, we good. So after that summer graduated high school. Unfortunately, like,
 U2
 16:24
this is how weird it was. Like, once she moved in with me, I'm buying her school
 U1
 16:28
clothes. Like her winter coat. I'm buying her her tampons. I'm paying for, like, fines. I'm like, this is kind of weird. Like, don't know, we're, like, together. So we go on a summer vacation, you know,
 U2
 16:39
introduce you to my parents. And that's
 U1
 16:41
another thing you got to do before you get
 U2
 16:43
married. You got to go at least on one
 U1
 16:44
vacation to see how that works out. And we
 U2
 16:47
fought and were miserable the whole time. When we got back, she's like,
 U1
 16:50
yeah, it was fun. It was okay. So I'm like, pass the test. So then I'm
 U2
 16:55
still in my 20s. I'm like, all right, we gotta talk about how I proposed, how we decided to get married. You know, the ripe the ripe young age of
 U1
 17:06
 21. She's 18 right now.
 U3
 17:09
She was a primary thing. Like the kids came after her on.
 U2
 17:13
 All right, so, no, I
 U1
 17:14
didn't think she was pregnant, so.
 U3
 17:16
No, I was just. That was just.
 U2
 17:18
Yeah. So it wasn't like, you know, we just. So when we decided was. So I just turned 21,
 U1
 17:24
 so, um,
 U2
 17:26
started going, you know, trying out the bar scene and all this stuff, and,
 U1
 17:29
and, you know, it's not much of a bar scene in Great Falls, Montana, but she
 U2
 17:34
kept picking me up from the bars,
 U1
 17:36
and, you know, she's working up at the airport and she's like, all right,
 U2
 17:39
this is this sucks, man. I don't want to go out with bars. Can't even get into them because I just turned 21. She's
 U1
 17:44
still 18, right. And and so she she picked me up and and I'm just hammered, you know, because I was a young kid idiot. And I was like, she's all upset. She goes, I want to spend my weekends with you. I don't want you going out with the boys and all that. And I'm like, so was like, oh, Nick had a great idea. No, how can just, you know,
 U2
 18:04
and and this conversation, it's going to work out great. So crawl over there on all four fours. And, you know, I'm trying to not throw up or anything. Room spinning. And I said, hey, how about this? How about we just get married and she's like, like
 U1
 18:21
you for real? I'm like, yeah, absolutely. So then, you know, she's
 U2
 18:27
not mad at me anymore. And we go back to my waterbed, by the way, had a waterbed then. That was our first furniture purchase together. Was like $200 till May in 1998. Waterbeds were legit.
 U3
 18:38
Dude, if I can find one now as we all over it.
 U1
 18:42
But no man was hard as hell to try to play video games. I'm trying to play Nintendo 64
 U2
 18:46
 and 1s move them anyways,
 U3
 18:49
I won't be playing video games on my water that.
 U1
 18:53
The one you have to share with you. What you do with that, with your
 U2
 18:59
 pets that went
 U1
 19:01
with the man through this mess with you. So I'll wake up
 U2
 19:04
the next morning. I'm so hungover.
 U1
 19:07
She's moving the bed. She rolls over and she looks me dead in the eye. She goes, hey, you remember what you said? What
 U2
 19:14
you said last night? I'm thinking, yeah, man. You married
 U1
 19:17
a couple of years, you know, no big deal. You've got a couple of years of playing it out. First things first. Get you out of Montana to my Montana rescue.
 U2
 19:25
 She picked up our little
 U1
 19:27
cordless phone. You know, at that
 U2
 19:30
point, my cell phone was a
 U1
 19:31
flip phone, and I had a pager, you know, but the house, phones, everybody had households. And she must have called 15 of her friends in 60s flat. She's like,
 U2
 19:41
 I'm getting married.
 U1
 19:42
Cool. I'm getting married. Like I'm like, oh, all right, can't even walk this, that I'm committed. Now. It's like you said, hey, we're doing a podcast. You put that on social media. I'm like, great, can't back out now.
 U2
 19:52
Not. But you told me to work the Facebook ads when I was
 U3
 19:58
doing great job on Insta so far, by the way, I
 U2
 20:03
haven't been share with that. You know that, man. Whatever. Anyways, listen, Facebook's easier for us cuz we're old
 U1
 20:09
 people anyways.
 U2
 20:11
 Instagram is crazy man.
 U1
 20:12
 It's it's it's a whole younger did to it.
 U2
 20:16
So anyways I'm like cool man, come here, we're getting married. But you know reality dude I'm 21. She's
 U1
 20:21
 18. Like, you know, we're gonna wait a couple
 U2
 20:23
of years, do all that. This
 U1
 20:25
is where this word gets dicey. So week later, of
 U2
 20:31
course, we tell her dad, you know, and her
 U1
 20:32
dad's like, why are you getting married? Your kids, she pregnant? Like no man.
 U2
 20:36
 Cool as hell. Oh,
 U3
 20:37
 didn't do the loss anyway.
 U1
 20:39
 Here's the deal. So
 U2
 20:41
 when you're 21,
 U1
 20:43
 you're your game.
 U2
 20:45
You pull out a game. And once I started drinking. Go to the bars. You pull out, it's good anymore. Just put it that way. Uh, you start, you start, you
 U1
 20:53
know, like, well, like, game was never good. Yeah, man.
 U2
 20:57
 Yeah. Spray and pray. Yeah.
 U1
 20:59
So find out my pull out game decidedly went to shit. Was, uh, you know, a week later, downstairs in his basement
 U2
 21:08
apartment. It's like my roommate already
 U1
 21:10
moved out because, you know, my girlfriend moved in. He goes, I'm not hanging out with you guys. And I'm sitting there taking a piss in the toilet. And
 U2
 21:18
here's the thing about the bathrooms,
 U1
 21:19
you know, like, sit. I'll save that for another topic. But once girls move into your place, the first thing that to change is the bathrooms.
 U2
 21:28
 So I'm in this bathroom
 U1
 21:29
taking the leak. She comes in and she's just bawling, crying. I'm like, oh my God, just let me pee in
 U2
 21:35
peace. She goes, oh, I'm pregnant.
 U1
 21:37
I was like, I was like, oh shit. She always message. She
 U2
 21:40
jokes me all the time was like,
 U1
 21:42
show me the paperwork. And before you even finish that sentence, she's like,
 U2
 21:46
she's got it in her hand. She went to Planned
 U1
 21:48
Parenthood, you know, young 18 year old kid crying. Is about to
 U2
 21:52
tell her boyfriend and I'm like, you're in my head. I'm watching all these
 U1
 21:55
movies. Hollywood I'm used to. Yeah, I'm used to.
 U3
 22:00
You know, people find out they're pregnant. They're like, yeah, let's celebrate.
 U2
 22:03
 I'm looking at
 U1
 22:04
 my wife and she's like,
 U2
 22:06
this time my fiance. And she's like mortified. I'm like, oh no, like, you should
 U1
 22:10
 be happy. Anyways,
 U2
 22:12
I'm turning around to look at her because I want to see this
 U1
 22:15
 paperwork and see, you know,
 U2
 22:16
she really selling this joke, you know, and I've never stopped peeing, and it just started peeing in the bathroom. And then she's screaming at me for peeing on the bathroom. Didn't stop.
 U1
 22:26
 Like, you know, shell shock.
 U2
 22:28
I was like, oh, man, what the hell? I literally the week before just got done telling my parents and her parents, oh, we're getting married for love. She's not pregnant. And now I have to walk that back and be like, all right, so what I said last week.
 U1
 22:40
Just kidding. You know, we're having a baby anyways, so I'm like, so
 U2
 22:45
this master plan of getting married, you know, 2 or 3 years, you
 U1
 22:48
need these extended, you know, engagements. Guess what? I'm getting married in two months because I have orders. And, you know, I had to
 U2
 22:57
have to re-enlist in the Air Force because I can't pay for medical care. I'm like, got a family. I'm like, oh my gosh. And to be honest, man, looking back, I was happy
 U1
 23:05
 for it. I'd spent at
 U2
 23:07
that time. I'd spent three years away from home right
 U1
 23:09
 after graduate highschool. I
 U2
 23:10
miss all my friends and family. I got new friends, but when I was dating her, she's judging
 U1
 23:15
 me. Not
 U2
 23:16
 on my truck or you
 U1
 23:18
 know, which you know, or
 U2
 23:19
my my brand new Eagle Talon. She said that was stupid. She or she
 U1
 23:26
was judging me. On the way
 U2
 23:28
I interacted with her little brothers. Now her little step brothers were four and six at the time. They
 U1
 23:33
always call me Jesse. Jesse. And like her, her step mom would ask me to stay the night at their house because her dad was always gone on the road just so I could wake up and take the kids to
 U2
 23:45
 daycare in the morning, like
 U1
 23:47
they'd make me babysit the kids like there
 U2
 23:50
was. There was a time where
 U1
 23:52
 my my
 U2
 23:53
wife and her stepmom went to go see the Chippendales and Great Falls, Montana and traveling male strippers.
 U1
 23:59
 And of course, Joanie
 U2
 24:01
had to get her stepmom to go with her.
 U1
 24:02
 She was only 17
 U2
 24:04
and they're like, hey, we're going to go do this. We need you to watch the
 U1
 24:08
kids. And so I'm like, okay, so I don't know
 U2
 24:12
how to raise four and six year olds. So here's how. What I did is a babysitting trick for all the dads out there. You know, maybe you find yourself in a situation,
 U1
 24:21
you know, ready made, you know, family, you know, maybe the the ladies
 U2
 24:24
got some kids already. Don't know. Brought over my PlayStation now pop in Resident
 U1
 24:28
 Evil two. And they just
 U2
 24:30
 watched me play video games
 U1
 24:31
like the whole night raising evil two and start to finish beat the game, which I should have
 U2
 24:36
been out of something. Then kids like watching
 U1
 24:38
 adults play video games, watch
 U2
 24:40
YouTube. So it was 98 and they were
 U3
 24:42
 four and six. Yeah,
 U2
 24:43
 four and six. Yeah, man.
 U3
 24:46
 They didn't. They weren't scared.
 U1
 24:48
 Oh my. Okay. Yeah,
 U3
 24:50
I was your age and I was scared.
 U2
 24:53
 So I made a mistake.
 U1
 24:55
 So I'm like finish
 U2
 24:57
up is really late. I'm like, all right kids time for bed. And they're like, no, Jesse, don't turn off the
 U1
 25:03
 lights. I'm like, why not?
 U2
 25:05
It's super scary. I'm like, oh my gosh, all right. Was like, when your sister gets home, pretend to be asleep, I'd want you get me in trouble. Don't screw this up for me, man.
 U1
 25:14
And of course, you know my wife and step mom. They come home and they're like,
 U2
 25:18
 why are the kids sleeping
 U1
 25:19
with the light on? They fell asleep. I'm like, I don't know, man. They were scared or something. I'm like, they were really worried about you, you
 U2
 25:26
know, surrounded by Chippendales. How was your night? And step mom's like, oh, Jordan is on the list.
 U3
 25:31
 And I was, oh no,
 U2
 25:33
she didn't step. Mom's like, Geordie got us on the tour bus. I'm like, she's 17
 U1
 25:37
and taken. This is some bull.
 U2
 25:39
Anyways, so there's a lot of incidents where I was like babysitting and playing with these kids. Oh, that's what it's supposed
 U3
 25:45
 to look like.
 U1
 25:48
Um. I can't even. Don't really don't want to say what I want to say right now 1s for all the kids out there anyways. Yeah,
 U2
 25:58
man. So like I said, my kids
 U1
 26:02
for growing. So kids, here's the thing.
 U2
 26:06
What I learned now is me as a
 U1
 26:08
young man thinking girls are in the material things like the cars, clothes. Oh man,
 U2
 26:13
my wife liked me because I was funny
 U1
 26:16
to her, not to anyone else. And I
 U2
 26:19
liked playing with her or, you know, her brothers and those kids
 U3
 26:23
with her. You got three kids?
 U2
 26:25
Yeah. Oh my gosh. So you mean you want to get into the. Here's another I mean, doing a lot of this
 U1
 26:34
talk. And here's the deal. We get married. Um, cool, man. We go. But here's the thing.
 U2
 26:40
I had to go to Texas for training. She went to go stay with her mom, you
 U1
 26:44
know, Indiana. So I was gone essentially the whole time she was pregnant. But before
 U2
 26:50
 went to train, we stopped
 U1
 26:52
by Detroit, you know, one last time before, you know, kind of stopped going back. And we met up. We try
 U2
 27:00
to meet up at your house for New Year's
 U1
 27:01
Eve, and everybody's like, you know,
 U2
 27:04
 we're so we're 21, all of us. And they're like, you're married. They're
 U1
 27:08
like the only one in the group that's married, right?
 U2
 27:11
 You guys are still
 U1
 27:12
trying to date in, uh, remember, remember getting dropped off at your house? And my wife don't
 U2
 27:19
know. She didn't want to come. She wanted to do something else. But then she got lost trying to come back, you know? But she didn't make it back before
 U1
 27:25
 midnight. And who
 U2
 27:27
is it? Oh, my God, who did
 U1
 27:28
 it? Who was the DJ?
 U2
 27:30
Chris. Yeah, Chris. He was like,
 U1
 27:32
all right, man, here comes midnight. I got the Prince saw. He's all about, you know, he's waiting his whole life to
 U2
 27:38
play that Prince thought it goes 98 to 99. What was it, 1999.
 U1
 27:43
And yeah, Dan literally was his dopamine man that that made his night. But it's still. But what what's what's the tradition we do on New Year's Eve? We. Go with couples. It's you kiss. It's just. Yeah. In my life was there. I was like, didn't know what you thought. You were talking the way you shouldn't word that. Like, well, what was Archie was like, don't get
 U2
 28:03
kicked out of hotels. That bizarre tradition to that
 U3
 28:06
point. 1s Oh, yeah. No, I mean, you know, the ideal situation is when you want to have a female friend there. So midnight, you, you know, you bring in the new year with. All right, Cindy, so
 U1
 28:19
 let's do this
 U2
 28:20
dating tips for all the married dads, single dads.
 U1
 28:23
When you go out and do celebrate a New Year's Eve. Um, don't number one.
 U2
 28:28
 Don't celebrate New Year's
 U1
 28:29
Eve without your wife. If you married, just don't do it.
 U2
 28:33
And let's be honest, once you hit 25, who's still going off for New Year's Eve? That's a dump. Best, dumbest
 U1
 28:39
 holiday in the world
 U3
 28:40
 11. Holiday. Who? Who's up for the ball? And probably more
 U1
 28:46
me, man. Can't. I can't tell you. The last year I saw that drop play number
 U2
 28:51
 two. The balls drop
 U3
 28:53
 on your face. All right.
 U1
 28:55
 Yeah, yeah
 U2
 28:57
a schedule played earlier. Now that's all the only
 U1
 28:59
difference. You know, earlier in the night. Number two, if you're if you're dating someone like, uh, if
 U2
 29:06
you're a single. Here's the thing. Like single moms, they get the kids on the Christmas single. Dads
 U1
 29:10
who probably get, you know, get the kids on New Year's Eve. So are you really going out? No. You know, that works.
 U2
 29:15
Well, I used to work every New Year's Eve, honestly, because I was in the bar industry. Oh, my God, would
 U1
 29:21
 you kiss girls? Random girls?
 U3
 29:22
No, because I'd be behind the bar. I couldn't do
 U1
 29:25
 that. Oh, yeah. Meet me.
 U3
 29:26
 Was at the casino
 U2
 29:28
 meeting. Man. My body, my
 U1
 29:30
choice. You can't be kissing randoms. But here's the thing. You're at your parents house would party in the basement.
 U2
 29:36
You know, all the girls are kissing the guys, and I kiss Pete sister.
 U1
 29:39
And I'm, like, thinking, no big deal. But, man, guess what? Guess who walked in at that point and seen
 U2
 29:46
that? That's right Johnny. And she was pissed. So here I'm thinking, oh man, I'm at the perfect girl. She doesn't hold grudges or get mad. We've been married almost 25 years and she still bust
 U1
 29:57
my ass about that. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm sorry, want to do that again? I'm
 U2
 30:01
so apologize for 25 years later, man.
 U1
 30:03
 No cat. 1s Absolutely.
 U3
 30:07
 Yeah.
 U2
 30:08
 Anyway,
 U1
 30:09
so what was your bodies like, man? Because here I am. I'm married, you know, before even get into having the kids part. Were you looking for
 U3
 30:17
a wife? Was always looking. But but, I mean, it's just
 U2
 30:22
there's a difference between looking for a girlfriend, looking for a
 U1
 30:24
wife. Right? And it's different, you know? But we knew we didn't mean.
 U2
 30:29
Yeah, we didn't have to compete on the social media as quite well. Yeah. No, but back then, you know, you interacted with people. You were around people. It wasn't abnormal to just go up to somebody and introduce yourself or ask them for their number or what, you know, do you feel it's creepy now?
 U1
 30:49
 Is that. No.
 U3
 30:50
Does that hold you back? No. It's walking into that, honestly. Like what? Here's my top reason why I think dating right now, since you want to jump into it or so is right. Meet someone. I had an 11 year old son this person had. Let's just go. An eight year old kid child. What boy? Girl doesn't that she lives 25 to 30 minutes away. Where? Dating? Things are going well. All right. Who's selling? Who's house? Who's pulling what kid out of school? You know what I mean? Like who's who's gonna uplift their whole life? Or this person you met that you feel is the right one. But you know who's pulling who's kid out of school,
 U1
 31:38
 though, do I?
 U3
 31:40
 Do I have a I
 U2
 31:42
would have a plan of attack
 U1
 31:43
on that one for sure. The
 U2
 31:46
what I've seen now through my eyes is you. You get a house together
 U1
 31:53
and you both start fresh. So there's
 U2
 31:55
no memories or any hang ups with your old residence. Now the schools so that you're picking, you're picking, you know, locations. You're like, maybe
 U1
 32:05
you're lucky. Maybe they're both, you know, private schools and it doesn't matter where you live. Maybe the public school, though it does matter.
 U2
 32:13
 I will tell you,
 U1
 32:14
 kids do not
 U2
 32:16
just my time in the military, you know, have sunk is
 U1
 32:19
 they're already to move at a moment's notice because that's that's
 U2
 32:23
their part. Like, yeah man, we're let's hear we're military brass. We're good to
 U1
 32:27
go. But now that I'm, you know, the military, the kids like it's dumb as hell. What? We don't we don't want to move. Hell, are you staying? And can you play the bills? I don't know, man. So you're right. All
 U3
 32:40
right, let me put some thought in that one because that. Yeah. Mean we got
 U2
 32:44
to talk about the dating art and show us down the line. But just there's a little snip and there's many other reasons. Excuses, you know, whatever
 U3
 32:56
you want to call it. Hey,
 U2
 32:58
can I tell you something? You know, so back in the 20s, when you guys were going to like Cancun all the time, like you were still going on spring break, growing a lot
 U3
 33:07
and break until was, like 27 years
 U1
 33:10
 old. No,
 U3
 33:11
no, not that all. Think it was part of me.
 U1
 33:15
Wonders what that was like. I'm like, I'm like, I'm married with kids. You know, at 21,
 U2
 33:20
you're literally still going to spring
 U1
 33:22
 break until 27. Yep. And
 U3
 33:25
am cool. That would be a whole season of stories for that one.
 U1
 33:29
 Mean you never forget
 U2
 33:31
 your first Jimmy. You
 U1
 33:32
never forget your first. And it was you and me, 1995.
 U2
 33:36
That's right. And it was fun, you know. And all the others were fun. But yeah, that was what I did. Like every year, that's what I looked forward to. Didn't have birthdays to look forward to
 U3
 33:47
besides my own. Just holidays. Yeah.
 U1
 33:50
 You know, it's thinking,
 U2
 33:51
where can I get the next beer special on a Thursday night, you know, dollar. Where's my dollar beer special then let's go. Six
 U1
 33:58
years ago, seven years ago, you know, you and
 U2
 34:01
me and all our friends were, you know,
 U1
 34:03
turning 40 that year. I'm living out in Japan, and I get this invite. Hey, if we're
 U2
 34:08
going to go to Cancun to celebrate a 40th birthday and look, my
 U1
 34:12
wife, I'm like, what do you think? Like,
 U2
 34:14
is that weird or not? She goes, it's not weird for
 U1
 34:17
 them. It's weird as hell
 U2
 34:19
 for, you know, what? I'm
 U1
 34:21
like, hey, with my deepest regrets. Unfortunately,
 U2
 34:23
guys, I'm in Japan and I
 U1
 34:25
 can't fly to Mexico.
 U3
 34:27
Well, that didn't even wind up happening. That was more or less, I think, my idea, you know, because I just got divorced right around that point, too. So was like, man, I need a vacation.
 U1
 34:38
Oh for sure. But, you know, so like happens and so
 U2
 34:43
 yeah. So,
 U1
 34:45
 for instance, after
 U2
 34:47
I rescued my wife from Montana,
 U1
 34:51
it was kind of like a couple over couple of my, my older boys, the
 U2
 34:55
we're in Arizona, you know, I was working there for the Air Force
 U1
 34:58
and you had a grandma that lived there. So every time you go, you'd go visit your grandmother. We'd go hang out,
 U2
 35:03
you know, a party. But it was it was difficult as hell for me to get away from the
 U1
 35:07
kids, you know, in the life to go like, to bars.
 U2
 35:11
I do want to touch base on them,
 U3
 35:14
you know. I'll tell you what. There's the Arizona. Well, I don't know if it was when you had your house or your apartment, because I visited you twice down in Arizona. And the first, how far apart? The first two kids.
 U2
 35:27
Two years. So, you know, I had
 U3
 35:30
I'm wondering. No, because they were both there. Remember, your your wife got so mad at you at Applebee's
 U1
 35:39
 because
 U3
 35:41
I went up there to meet your son, and she was just mad because you you're like. You can't have dinner with your family, you know? Like she was mad.
 U1
 35:49
 Yeah. So
 U2
 35:50
here it's being young parents is stressful, and there's nothing worse. We couldn't
 U1
 35:55
afford. We couldn't afford a babysitter.
 U2
 35:58
So we're bringing our kids with
 U1
 35:59
us. And you're you're you're the fifth wheel at that point, right? Not only that, it's
 U2
 36:06
like Applebee's was such a treat for us.
 U1
 36:10
 Like we didn't go
 U3
 36:11
out to dinner, like, I mean, we had 2.5 hour every night, like that kind of stuff. Here's my poor wife. She's trying
 U1
 36:17
 to, you know, not
 U2
 36:19
have the kids destroy everything, you know, kitchen. Oh, they're horrible restaurants. They're like, oh, here, here's a crayon. Make me a nice picture. And they're like, at that. We'll see how far we can throw it and hit a table like,
 U1
 36:29
 you know, write all
 U2
 36:31
your food. You're like, oh, this looks delicious. So it looks good on the floor as well.
 U1
 36:35
They just throw it, you know. So
 U2
 36:37
she's, you know going through that and she doesn't want to
 U1
 36:40
 hear, you know, spring
 U2
 36:41
break stories from behind from you and me. And you're going to Cancun because probably in her eyes, she's probably wondering what I'm thinking about my life versus your life. You're on vacation, having fun. I know I'm speaking for her, but, you know, that's my best guess. Oh, I'm sure
 U3
 36:56
you'll have nice comments once this goes live.
 U1
 37:00
 Like. And she listens to
 U3
 37:01
it and want to show up in a nice little Kansas
 U2
 37:03
she wants to jump on. This is my
 U3
 37:05
first trip there. It was just, you know, we'll get to the story you want to tell it, but back up for a second. Okay. Uh, so it was me, you and Mike Ryan
 U1
 37:16
the first trip. Oh, that's Mike down there. Yes, Mike lived there. So you guys hooked up with me
 U2
 37:23
literally a couple a week before I shipped off to Korea. It was. It was 911. So it was 2001
 U3
 37:30
one. No, couldn't have been 100% because. Because I flew with no issues. Want to say don't remember how it was
 U2
 37:37
before 911. You know, okay. You didn't have to take out his shoes because a month later you came in August, like a month later, I was
 U3
 37:44
gone. I'm in 2s Arizona in August. Man, that was silly. Well, okay, so we went. We wound up going out with your wife's friends and your wife stayed home, and I remember that was a bad idea for you.
 U1
 38:02
Okay. Full disclosure, if I go back in
 U2
 38:05
the way back time machine, I was trying to hook you up, you know, with her friends.
 U1
 38:08
But again, we couldn't afford a babysitter and online, and I'm like, I'm just going to tell her. Yeah, it's just me. You going out? Yeah. Watch the kids. And then she finds out. Come back home later. I'm like, yeah, just so you know, man. You know, we we end
 U2
 38:21
up meeting. I'm hanging out with your friends. Yeah
 U1
 38:23
she did that. Well, she was busy
 U3
 38:25
in the back with us. So that's how we got in trouble, I thought because I remember being in your apartment, I don't know, but. Yeah. No,
 U2
 38:33
 we were there. Apartment?
 U3
 38:34
 No, they're all
 U2
 38:36
there. Yeah, because, well, the bars are right down the street from them. And one of the friends. Yeah, there is. She was single mom too. She had she had a
 U1
 38:43
kid. But I don't know who was watching the kid. And she had some family
 U2
 38:47
and stuff. Right. They're both single
 U1
 38:48
moms, I think maybe, I don't know. Anyways,
 U2
 38:50
their don't sell don't know mean they're not dumb. I was like my I should have just told my wife. I'm like, hey man, we're going out with Jimmy. Sorry, we're hanging out with your friends too. Anyways, again, being married young you takes years and years and years to build
 U1
 39:01
 trust. And she's just.
 U2
 39:04
You know, I put myself and my wife, she's mean. She wants our fun, too. She won't get stopped watching
 U1
 39:08
 the kids all the time.
 U2
 39:10
God, this podcast made me sorry, man.
 U1
 39:12
Oh, God. Oh, yeah. I'm a horrible husband. Oh, my, oh, my. Oh, and I'm right. I'm glad she's. She doesn't hold that grudge still after 22 years. I'm sure I'm reopen that wound. Yeah, but
 U3
 39:27
so Arizona trips didn't even get better for you because you came back with her other buddy, you know, years later, and, yeah,
 U2
 39:34
Joe Biden and he brought a girlfriend with you because you're honestly going to do the test. The vacation test. Let's quantification
 U1
 39:39
with the girl and see if she's going to be the one. Was that was she
 U3
 39:43
 hypothetically speaking or hyperventilating? Well,
 U2
 39:47
you know, all I remember, I've never been kicked out of a bar in
 U1
 39:50
my life. I've never been kicked out of
 U2
 39:51
hotels either. Unless I'm with you. That's
 U3
 39:54
how many got got kicked out of so many bars in my 20s. Yeah. So
 U2
 39:58
we're down in, you know, I don't know, Tempe, Arizona's
 U1
 40:02
college town and we're at a bar, and this fight breaks out in front of me, and they just
 U2
 40:07
throw them all out, and I'm like, dang, that was that
 U1
 40:09
was crazy. And they're like, you're going to. I'm like, just watch it. I don't even know these guys. And they threw me out. I was like, well, wasn't with them. I'm like, didn't fight
 U2
 40:17
anybody. I was just like next to them,
 U1
 40:19
you know, I'm not gonna break it up. And then
 U2
 40:21
I was like, screw me. I walked back in the bar and find you guys, and the bouncer saw me, man. And he she started to grab me, physically threw me out the bar.
 U1
 40:30
 I'm like, he goes,
 U2
 40:31
you go back in here, you're trespassing. I'm like, man, I'm not trying to make trouble. I'm like, all right, all right, I'll stay away. I'm like, no,
 U1
 40:37
I'm driving. So I'm sober. And
 U2
 40:40
so I'm just hanging out there. Moments later, I'll watch you. Our buddy Joe come rolling out with with your girlfriend. And she's like, ventilating and she's going crazy. I'm just like,
 U1
 40:51
 what happened? Like asthma attack
 U2
 40:53
or something? To this day, I have no idea what happened because I wasn't in the bar
 U1
 40:57
and Joe's shop at the time. But he's a he's a cop. Upper Michigan, you know,
 U2
 41:01
and all these cops are coming up to me like you need an ambulance. You call that? And he's trying to, like, low key flash his badge like no man, we
 U1
 41:07
 could. It's just some
 U2
 41:08
relationship issues. It's all good. Yeah. And they're like. It's like
 U3
 41:12
she thought I was talking to some other girl. Apparently, she didn't take lessons from your wife because this school, this girl just went crazy. She thought she has to be left in Arizona.
 U1
 41:26
 Okay, I
 U3
 41:27
might have said, you know, to find your way to, I don't know. Oh, drunken Jimmy Daze. They're
 U1
 41:34
 going
 U2
 41:35
nuts. You know, if anybody listening
 U1
 41:37
in, you're like, what? Things not to say, not to do. Don't don't negotiate with terrorists.
 U3
 41:43
 No names given out. You.
 U2
 41:45
I don't remember names. I always say the wrong names. I'll say my wife's name.
 U1
 41:50
 Oh, man. And then
 U3
 41:51
I'd say, oh, you're. You're 20. You're throwing out diapers in my 20s. I'm getting thrown out of bars and indifferent, I
 U1
 41:59
know, and my weekends. But you
 U2
 42:01
know what? I look back at it fondly. I'm like, because since didn't have any money, you know, it was
 U1
 42:07
like living paycheck to paycheck. It was like, I
 U2
 42:09
 spend so much time with
 U1
 42:10
 my kids that I
 U2
 42:12
 essentially raised them
 U1
 42:13
 on video games, like
 U2
 42:15
I taught my oldest kid how, you know,
 U1
 42:17
math by playing Madden. You know, my other kid, he taught.
 U2
 42:22
I taught him like, you learn a bunch of creativity by
 U1
 42:24
 making, you know, characters.
 U2
 42:27
Like he didn't want to play Madden. He had more fun, like
 U1
 42:30
 making and designing characters.
 U2
 42:32
And that's what in life I'm like, you know, this is like the new
 U1
 42:34
version of, you know, playing dress up
 U2
 42:37
 dolls with digital is is
 U1
 42:39
 cooler. So
 U2
 42:41
I will say, you know, three years after all those incidents and me, you know, trying to hang out with you and my wife actually surprised
 U1
 42:49
me. All right. Before, you know, I had a big career move. You know, I finished up college at the time.
 U2
 42:55
 So here my weeks
 U1
 42:57
 look like this. Like
 U2
 42:58
I would work 12 hour days
 U1
 43:00
 on the after work.
 U2
 43:02
I would do six hours of night courses, going to
 U1
 43:04
 college, and then on the
 U2
 43:06
weekends I was writing. I was writing all my papers and doing homework, and it was me watching and raising our two boys, because my wife would
 U1
 43:15
 go and work the weekends
 U2
 43:16
because we had one car. We couldn't afford daycare so much
 U1
 43:20
at the point, you know, at that point, eventually
 U2
 43:23
we got two cars, she's got daycare, and she wasn't making a lot of money. Like, her whole salary literally seems like it went to daycare. But she's but here's the thing. She's like, I'm out of the house. I'm talking interacting with other
 U1
 43:34
people. You know, you get to go out, you
 U2
 43:37
know, you talk to your friends every now and then your work. I want
 U1
 43:40
that too. So it did. It worked out. And then after a while, she she surprised me. She saved up
 U2
 43:47
and bought me a plane ticket
 U1
 43:49
to go meet up with you guys in Detroit for one
 U2
 43:52
 last New Year's Eve, and
 U1
 43:54
 I can't
 U2
 43:55
even I don't even remember what we did. But it was the first New Year's Eve since 2004, going 2005, that we didn't get kicked out of a bar
 U1
 44:03
and we didn't get kicked out of a hotel.
 U2
 44:05
And I met, you know, all new people because at that point, you know, we've been out of high
 U1
 44:10
school and, you know, almost, almost nine years. We
 U2
 44:14
 in our mind grown
 U1
 44:15
ups. It was a good man. And then 2004 and that was a stretch of ten years. Pretty soon you think that next time I saw you was 2016. Oh yeah.
 U2
 44:30
 So here. So here's what
 U1
 44:31
happened. I became an officer, you know, out there navigate and
 U2
 44:34
C-130. So I went to Germany, I started my 30s out there. And that's where
 U1
 44:39
had to number three, baby. Oh
 U2
 44:41
I'd spent a lot of time in Iraq.
 U1
 44:43
Kuwait. That sucked. 1s It was different.
 U2
 44:47
So here I got this college degree, I'm
 U1
 44:49
using it and I'm I'm on the front line, you know, see dumb shit. It
 U2
 44:56
was very different. So definitely matured
 U1
 44:59
 to that point. But now
 U2
 45:00
I'm at the point where that's great, but now I'm away from my kids even
 U1
 45:04
more and I'm like, oh yeah, you know, it all works out. I'll tell you what though, 1s we
 U2
 45:10
can we can put a pin on that one right there. And we could start off next time. Let's talk about our 30s,
 U1
 45:16
because in our 30s at this point, that's when you got married.
 U3
 45:22
I got married, had a kid, also made a move. That was my career. Yeah.
 U1
 45:28
Career. Are you talking like we started? You know, when we start buying houses and, like, you know, things changed, man. We like we grow up, you know? Hey, what works, what didn't work is cool.
 U3
 45:38
Let's move on. This episode and after episode three is when we will start getting
 U1
 45:45
into situation. And that is, you know why we're doing this podcast right now? It sounds like a biography of Jimmy and Jesse. Yeah, right. And we're just getting to our point of how we got to where we're at to give out our dads are us stamp of approval on. Yeah, yeah.
 U2
 46:06
It's just not any storytelling. I will say walk away from from listen
 U1
 46:10
to this with a couple of things. One, don't kiss
 U2
 46:13
anyone on New Year's Eve. That's not your
 U1
 46:14
wife. Definitely not your girlfriend. Two don't go out with your boys and your wife's girlfriends, at least without telling her first
